Welcome to SMART Sports NFL Flag Football — where the game is fast, the community is strong, and every athlete matters.
Founded in 2021, our league was built on a simple belief: sports should develop more than skills. They should develop character. As a SMART Sports Group league, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and high-energy environment where young athletes can compete, connect, and grow — both on and off the field.
We serve school-age youth across all skill levels, from first-time players learning the fundamentals to experienced athletes seeking competitive play. Every program is designed with intention, blending skill development, teamwork, leadership, and physical and mental wellness. Our certified coaches and dedicated volunteers mentor with purpose, reinforcing respect, discipline, accountability, and sportsmanship in every practice and game.
Our primary season takes place each Spring in Washington, DC — the Nation’s Capital — in partnership with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation. Participation in our league requires registration through DC Parks and Recreation, and all athletes must be active DPR participants to compete. We pride ourselves on delivering well-organized, professionally managed experiences that feel energetic, safe, and rewarding for players and families alike. In addition to league play, we host clinics, skills camps, and community-focused events throughout the year to strengthen relationships and expand opportunities for our athletes.
At SMART Sports NFL Flag, we are more than a league — we are a community. Parents, guardians, coaches, officials, and supporters are essential members of our league family. We ask every family to help us protect the culture we are building by demonstrating respect for coaches, officials, teammates, and opponents at all times. The adults on the field and sidelines are mentors and role models, and they deserve the same support we expect for our players.
