SMART Sports NFL Flag DC Kicks Off League - Over 375 Kids

SMART Sports partners with DC Parks and Recreation to host NFL Flag Football for the area youth. The league kicked off the season (including playoffs) on Saturday, March 5. To create a more festive and championship like environment, the games were played at the same site, Coolidge High School. We had over 375 participants competing on 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U teams. The kids are thrilled to receive their official NFL jerseys, game shorts and flag belts. Many of the kids are able to were the jersey of their favorite NFL team. We are excited about creating memorable life experience while growing the game of football.

This season we also provided Guardian helmets for the athletes. Both parents and athletes were excited to wear these soft helmets. Children are getting much stronger and faster. These functional and stylish helmets provided a degree of comfort and confidence.

With more than 1,600 locally operated leagues and over 500,000 youth athletes across all 50 states, NFL FLAG is a fun and accessible non-contact sport for youth ages 5-17. NFL FLAG is the only flag football league where players wear officially-licensed NFL gear. Flag football is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States, with regular participation of more than three million youth and adults each year.
